Step 1 Warm-up and lead-in

  1. Greetings

    T: Good morning, boys and girls.

    What day is it today?

     How is the weather today?

    Oh, it’s a good day to learn English,yes? Let’s begin our class. Sit down please.

    Look at the screen. I have some pictures for you. Look at this picture. Who is she? Yes, she’s a super star in our school. But who is she?This is also Tang Yuxuan. Seven years ago, she was a little baby.

    What are these? They are purple grapes. But two weeks ago, they were green grapes.

    What are they? They are cute chicks. But two days ago, they were eggs.

    these pictures on the left are about Then. These pictures on the right are about Now. Today in this class we are going to learn Unit 4 Then and now. Let’s read then and now.

    Step 2 Presentation

  2. Look and say

    T: Look at those pictures. Who are they? They are about Mike’s family.

    Look at Mike. Six years ago, Mike was a little boy. Look at this picture, can you guess what could he do?

    Now he can do many things. Can you guess what can he do?

    I think you have a good imagination. Now let’s listen and repeat after the tape.

  3. T: Look at theses pictures. What are they? Do you know?

  4. Read and answer

    What things are mentioned in part 2? This part are about Mr Brown. Let’s read and answer some questions.

    Technology changes his life. Now let’s read after the tape.

  5. Read and fill

    What changes his wife Mrs Brown’s daily life? This time read part 4 and try to fill in the blanks on page38.

  6. Listen and fill

    Technology also changes Mike’s grandpa’s life. Now take out your exercise paper. Let’s listen and fill in the blanks.
