  2. 了解几个西方节日,并熟练掌握万圣节的相关内容,拓展学生的知识领域。

3. 学习Cartoon time的内容,了解母亲节和父亲节,鼓励学生向父母表达自己对他们的爱。

    Watch a video about western festivals: Easter, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas.

【设计意图:老师教授Easter Thanksgiving Day,分享这两个节日的时间,人们的活动等,拓展学生的知识面,了解西方文化,学生在听和思考的同时,也能较好地培养学生的综合运用能力。】

    T: In our book, there is a western holiday. What is it? Children in the west like this festival very much.

    What do you know about Halloween?

【设计意图:预习反馈,学生课前对万圣节有所了解,即便分享时说得是中文,也达到了了解西方节日的目的,减轻了英文理解的难度,激发学生主动学习英语的热情。

Step3 Cartoon time 1

1. I can guess

T: Just now, we talked about some Chinese festivals and western holidays. What about Bobby and Tina? What holiday are they talking about?

 It’s in May. It’s a holiday for all the mothers. What festival is it?

T: Yes. It’s Mother’s Day. It’s on the second Sunday of May.

【设计意图:承接猜测活动,很自然地引出Mother’s Day。】

2. I can ask

T: What do you want to know about Mothers Day?

(学生自由提问,生成板书。)

【设计意图:看课文内容之前,先让学生发散思维,说一说我们可以给母亲做些什么为文中的学习做好准备。】

    T: Mothers Day is a holiday for mothers. What do Bobby and Tina do for their mother?

    T: How does mum feel?

      What about their father? Is their father happy?

      Is there a Fathers Day?

    Do you know anything about Father’s Day?

      When? What?

    Summary: Parents do a lot for us. They cook for us. They make money for us. They educate us and so on. They are like supermen. Be good children and love them.

【设计意图:本文内容比较简单,用了比较简单的阅读教学策略,练习重点放在了语音语调的朗读指导上。】

Step 4 Cartoon time 2

1. Try to know

T: Is there a Father’s Day too?

T: Yes. It’s on the third Sunday of June. (父亲节的知识介绍)

【设计意图:适当的拓展可以增加学生的知识储备。】

2. Let’s act

(四人一组,按照Cartoon的内容进行表演。能续编的小组能加分哦!)

续编提示:Father’s Day

  T: We love our Dad, We love our Mum. Let’s say: Father and mother I love you. We are family!

【设计意图:故事续编,培养了学生的想象能力和思维能力,课内的学习延伸到了课后。】

Homework  家庭作业

1.Read and act Cartoon time.

  朗读并表演卡通

2. Introduce some Western festivals to your friends and parents.

   向朋友和父母介绍中西方节日。

3.Continue writing a story about Father’s Day.

  续编父亲节的故事。
